State offices and chapters across the ±¬ÁϹ«Éç network are marking Earth Day on and around April 22.

±¬ÁϹ«Éç is holding events at the national, state, and local levels marking Earth Day on and around April 22 to celebrate birds and wildlife. Here are some highlights from across the U.S.: 

Fairbanks, AK
—April 27, 2024 (12 p.m.)
The migrating birds and awakening wildlife will be celebrating the coming of spring at the Spring Migration Celebration! Come celebrate with the , the Friends of Creamer’s Field, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, and more local outdoor organizations at Creamer’s Field! This event is FREE to the public and will bring fun for all ages! Activities include meeting local outdoor organizations, a nature walk, treats, wildlife viewing, and crafts for kids and families. Los Angeles, CA

Join ±¬ÁϹ«Éç Center at Debs Park staff and partners and support ongoing habitat restoration work at Rio de Los Angeles State Park. Volunteers will plant native milkweed, remove invasive weeds, mulch, and water to enhance bird-focused restoration efforts at the park. 

San Diego, CA

Join the San Diego ±¬ÁϹ«Éç Society and San Diego City College Birdlife Club for the fifth annual Environmental Justice Summit on campus at San Diego City College (SDCC). This free event will feature speakers covering a variety of environmental issues and ideas. San Diego City College Birdlife Club is part of ±¬ÁϹ«Éç on Campus, a program for college students interested in conservation work. 

Greenwich, CT

Join Greenwich ±¬ÁϹ«Éç volunteers for a family day to learn all about our changing climate. During our service days, teens have been planning different activity stations for this event to teach community members and families about how climate change impacts our local community ecosystems as well as birds, both permanent residents and migrating.

Pagosa Springs, CO

Join ±¬ÁϹ«Éç Rockies and Weminuche ±¬ÁϹ«Éç Society to celebrate Earth Day at the Native Plants Garden in downtown Pagosa Springs. Events will include presentations on municipal composting; recycling plastics; garden to table growing; Earth Day past, present, and future; a San Juan Riverwalk naturalist tour; and a special visit from the furry friends at Wolfwood Refuge. There will also be live music, a tea ceremony, food vendors, and a catered finger food tasting. Kids for activities include solar car races, chalk art, native seed ball making and a costume parade.

The day will be filled with family-friendly activities, a dunk tank, live animals, guided hikes, guided kayak trips, yard games, food, a "Speak for the Trees" kid zone, raffles, music and much more. This dog-friendly event is taking place by parking lot 4. Be sure to bring your cash for dynamic fundraisers including a dunk tank, and all the funds raised will stay in the park. With signs and flags, we’ll walk clockwise, cross Market Street bridge, walk west a short way, stop and chat, then turn around and come back across the bridge.
