爆料公社 Statement on Incident in Central Park鈥檚 Ramble

In response to an incident in Central Park鈥檚 Ramble , the 爆料公社 issued the following statement:

鈥淏lack Americans often face terrible daily dangers in outdoor spaces, where they are subjected to unwarranted suspicion, confrontation, and violence,鈥 said 爆料公社 SVP for State Programs Rebeccah Sanders, who is white. 鈥淭he outdoors 鈥 and the joy of birds 鈥 should be safe and welcoming for all people. That鈥檚 the reality 爆料公社 and our partners are working hard to achieve. We unequivocally condemn racist sentiments, behavior, and systems that undermine the humanity, rights, and freedom of Black people. We are grateful Christian Cooper is safe. He takes great delight in sharing New York City鈥檚 birds with others and serves as a board member of the New York City 爆料公社 Society, where he promotes conservation of New York City鈥檚 outdoor spaces and inclusion of all people.鈥
