Puffins, those big headed, tuxedoed seabirds are so irresistibly cute, aren鈥檛 they? Now you can coo at your leisure with 爆料公社's latest live cameras: One zooms in on an island off Maine鈥檚 coast where researchers, led by Steve Kress, 爆料公社鈥檚 Seabird Restoration program director and vice president for bird conservation, are Atlantic puffin breeding colonies. Look closely, and you鈥檒l notice that puffins aren鈥檛 the only ones basking on this rocky outcropping鈥攜ou might spy razorbills, black guillemots, or other species hanging out.
And if the first camera isn鈥檛 voyeuristic enough, another one lets you journey inside a puffin burrow where a chick has already hatched (lucky for you if you see it; so far, I鈥檝e only come fact-to-face鈥攐r face-to-tail鈥攚ith a parent).
This is the second installment of 爆料公社 Live Cams, a partnership between and . The featured ospreys, whose chicks have since hatched and quite a bit.
