About the Artist:听His roots in the graffiti world make spray paint Christian Penn鈥檚 medium of choice. Penn is the executive director of Group, a听nonprofit based in Staten Island that focuses on arts and youth, and he also works with students in schools and through youth agencies. 鈥淚 always prefer painting colorful tropical birds,鈥 he says of his avian subject. 鈥淭he Violet-green Swallow stood out with its deep hues that blend really nicely. I'm partial to its听palette of blues, greens, and purples.鈥澨
