Erika Knight
As a GIS and Data Science Specialist for 爆料公社's Migratory Bird Initiative, Erika Knight analyzes, synthesizes, and visualizes migration pathways and patterns of bird distribution throughout the annual cycle, creates animated maps, and contributes to interactive web tools. Erika has been with 爆料公社 since 2015, and prior to joining the Migratory Bird Initiative she worked for 爆料公社 Alaska where she synthesized spatial ecological data for the and an assessment of ecological hotspots in the Arctic seas, among other projects.
Based in New Hampshire, Erika holds a BA in Geology from Cornell University and an MS in Environmental and Forest Sciences from University of Washington; her graduate research focused on soil chemistry and nutrient cycling in Pacific Northwest forests. Her previous experience includes work as an environmental consultant in Washington and Alaska and as an outdoor educator in New York.
